Ugandan municipal infrastructure assets are critical for sustainable urban development but face significant challenges related to maintenance and reliability. A mixed-method approach was employed, integrating econometric techniques including conditional logit models for assessing the impact of various variables on system reliability. Panel data from to were analysed using robust standard errors and confidence intervals to ensure reliable inference. The analysis revealed that investment levels in infrastructure significantly influence system reliability, with a positive direction effect over time (p < 0. 05). This study contributes novel insights into the determinants of municipal infrastructure asset systems' reliability in Uganda by applying advanced econometric models to panel data. Policy recommendations include prioritising investments and monitoring maintenance activities for enhanced system performance.
