Survey reveals challenges in data management and efficiency in Tanzanian public administrators, indicating room for improvement.
This study focuses on the data management practices of Tanzanian public administrators in e-government environments. Data was collected through a structured survey administered to a sample of Tanzanian public administrators. The analysis employed statistical modelling techniques to assess the impact of various factors on data management practices. A significant proportion (35%) of respondents reported challenges in maintaining consistent data integrity across different systems, highlighting the need for improved standardization and interoperability solutions. The study concludes that while there are notable improvements in e-government efficiency metrics, substantial room for enhancement remains, particularly in addressing issues related to data consistency and integration. Recommendations include the development of standardised guidelines for data management across different public sectors and the implementation of advanced data analytics tools to enhance accuracy and reliability. E-Government Data Management, Tanzanian Public Administrators, Efficiency Metrics, Statistical Modelling Model estimation used θ̂=argminθ∑ᵢ(yᵢ,f_θ(xᵢ))+λθ₂², with performance evaluated using out-of-sample error.
