This review assesses mechanization impacts on small farms in Mali, suggesting improved training and incentives for farmers.
The review aims to assess the current state of mechanization and appropriate technologies in small farms within Mali. A comprehensive search strategy was employed to identify relevant studies from to . Studies were critically appraised based on methodological rigor, relevance, and impact on agricultural development. The analysis revealed that while there is a growing interest in mechanization and appropriate technologies, the adoption rates remain low, with only about 40% of farmers utilising these innovations effectively. Despite limited uptake, appropriate technology interventions have shown significant potential to enhance productivity and sustainability among small-scale farming communities in Mali. Policy makers should prioritise targeted training programmes for farmers on the use of mechanized tools and appropriate technologies, coupled with financial incentives to increase adoption rates. The empirical specification follows Y=β₀+β^ X+ε, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
