Two-thirds of diabetic patients in Bahrain's primary care clinics have uncontrolled blood pressure, highlighting the need for integrated management strategies targeting obesity and glycemic control.
AlAlsayyad et al. (2025) conducted a cross-sectional in Type 2 diabetes mellitus (n=538). Age >60 years vs. Age ≤60 years was evaluated on Uncontrolled blood pressure (systolic BP ≥130 mmHg or diastolic BP ≥80 mmHg) (aOR 1.68, 95% CI 1.07-2.63). Uncontrolled blood pressure was present in 67% of diabetic patients and was significantly associated with age >60 years (aOR 1.68; 95% CI 1.07-2.63), obesity, and elevated fasting blood sugar.
