Key Points

  • This study aims to assess the state of ice covers on water basins using GNSS reflectometry.
  • Conducted reflectometry measurements using radio signals from navigation satellites
  • Focused on water basins in Krasnoyarsk krai and Khakassia
  • Applied fast Fourier transform for mathematical processing of data
  • Determined thickness of ice covers with varying macrophysical characteristics
  • Produced reflectograms through satellite signal analysis

Abstract

Reflectometry measurements of the state of the ice surfaces of water basins in the Krasnoyarsk krai and the Republic of Khakassia are performed with the help of radio signals from navigation satellites emitting in the L1 band. The reflectograms obtained were subjected to mathematical processing of the amplitude-time dependences with the help of the fast Fourier transform, which makes it possible to determine experimentally the thicknesses of ice covers with various macrophysical characteristics.
