Site 40SV186 is located near Sevierville in eastern Tennessee. Phase II yielded diagnostic artifacts including projectile points and ceramics dating to the Early and Middle Archaic; Early, Middle, and Late Woodland; and Mississippian periods. Five ceramic fragments, all from Woodland contexts, were submitted for ceramic residue analysis that includes phytolith, starch, and pollen. In addition, three lithics from Archaic, Woodland, and an unspecified association were submitted for protein residue analysis.
