Abstract

AbstractThe study was conducted at the Research Farm, Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, to evaluate phenophase-based fertigation schedules in spray chrysanthemum var. 'Punjab Shyamli' during the year 2020-2021. Five different treatments comprising of NPK @100:150:100 Kg/ha–1 full as 100% RDF and 75% RDF were applied through drip irrigation at different growth phases and in to different doses. The study was conducted using Randomized Block Design with four replications. Results revealed that split application of 100% RDF (100:150:100 kg ha–1) in the ratio of 40:20:20% at vegetative, 30:40:40% at bud and 30:40:40% at flowering stage significantly improved plant height (73.06 cm), plant spread (18.49 cm), length of cut spray (68.02 cm), stem girth (8.56 mm), number of sprays per plant (4.67), and number of flowers per plant (46.58). The same treatment also exhibited the extended flowering duration (37.50 days) and vase life (21.67 days). The study concludes that this treatment based fertigation can be recommended for sustainable commercial production of spray chrysanthemum.
