Explorative study investigates catalytic activities of platinum catalysts for nitric oxide conversion to ammonia, indicating potential for efficient nitrogen management.
Catalytic activities of platinum metal group catalysts supported on various metal oxides for NO conversion to NH3 (NOx-To-Ammonia: NTA) were investigated using the NO–CO–H2O and NO–H2 reactions. Pt/TiO2 exhibited high NTA activity at 200 °C for both reactions. Effects of space velocity on NTA activity of Pt/TiO2 revealed that NH3 formation rate for NO–CO–H2O reaction below 200 °C reached maximum capacity, whereas that for NO–H2 reaction increased with higher space velocity.
