Abstract The study aims to examine the impact of an electric field on low-density polyethylene (LDPE) samples and the subsequent evolution of their physical and chemical characteristics. The effect of an electric field on polyethylene samples has been studied using the following methods: Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and electrical measurements. The results prove that structural and morphological changes in polyethylene also determine alterations to its electrical properties.
