The traditional model of education places the teacher as the primary authority and the student as the passive recipient of knowledge. However, current evolving educational theories and the demands of the 21st century have challenged this traditional hierarchical structure. The concept of the teacher as a co-learner redefines educational roles by promoting collaborative learning, mutual inquiry, and shared responsibility in the classroom. But, in today's rapidly changing times, adaptability, innovation, skills, and value-based education are very important for a teacher. Redefining the role of the teacher promotes a democratic and inclusive educational environment, while enhancing critical thinking, student engagement, and lifelong learning. This research paper discusses the need to shift the traditional role of the teacher (knowledge provider) to that of a co-learner. The digital age, multicultural classrooms, and diverse learning styles make this transformation mandatory. The research analyzes how the teacher-learner relationship can be collaborative, interactive, and based on experience-sharing.
