Note details the construction and testing of scintillation counters in a particle physics experiment, showing effective measurements.
In this note the preparation of the TOF-WALL scintillation counters for the PS214 experiment (HARP) at CERN PS and the laboratory tests with cosmic rays are reported. The measurement of detection efficiencies, time resolutions and attenuation of signals along the counters shows very good performances. The intrinsic time resolution resulted to be ∼ 150 ps.
