Assessment of the impact of proposed development on surrounding heritage assets. Recording of the building to Historic England Level 3. The former Locke ceramics factory on Newtown Road was constructed in the late 19th century. Its original role was short-lived, and the surviving building has been used for a number of roles in subsequent years, ranging from industrial to residential uses. The proposed development includes the conversion of the building to commercial and residential use. This is considered to be positive and will see a derelict historic building retained and brought back into viable use. The building will be preserved amongst the new buildings of the Sherriff's Gate development
