Afro-linguistics is a subdiscipline of linguistics that studies languages spoken in Africa and their relationships to each other. A survey approach was employed to gather data from linguistic experts and documentation of existing language classifications in Chad. The study identified a significant proportion (45%) of Chadian languages belonging to the Nilo-Saharan family, with notable diversity across different regions. This research provides valuable insights into the Afro-Linguistics landscape within Chad, highlighting linguistic diversity and classification patterns. Further research should focus on comparative studies between neighboring African countries to better understand regional linguistic dynamics.
