Population studies assess age and growth of striped bass in two rivers, revealing no significant differences.
A study of age, growth and meristics of striped bass was carried out in the Saint John River, New Brunswick and the Annapolis River, Nova Scotia. Growth rates of the two populations were calculated and compared with other populations along the Atlantic Coast of the United States. No differences were found between the two Canadian populations in either growth or meristics. The United States population showed growth differences but differences in fin ray counts were not observed.
