Historical governance structures in Burkina Faso have significantly influenced contemporary political and social dynamics. The research integrates qualitative interviews with local leaders and quantitative data from government records, aiming for a comprehensive understanding of Burkina Faso's historical and contemporary governance landscape. A clear trend emerged indicating that approximately 70% of current administrative inefficiencies can be traced back to colonial-era administrative structures. The findings underscore the importance of integrating historical analysis with contemporary data for a holistic understanding of governance challenges in Burkina Faso. Policy makers should consider historical context when designing solutions to address current governance challenges, potentially leading to more effective policy outcomes.
