Cross-species analysis uncovers molecular mechanisms in hypothalamic development, implying potential insights for diseases.
The hypothalamus regulates many aspects of the body's birth, aging, illness and death, and is the commander of the body's homeostasis. The analysis of the gene regulatory network of hypothalamic development process between species can provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis of hypothalamic diseases, the production of mouse hypothalamic disease models, and the treatment of hypothalamic diseases. To this end, single-cell open chromatin sequencing of hypothalamic samples in the early stage of human and mouse embryonic development was carried out, and by integrating human and mouse data, the similarities and differences in the development process of human and mouse hypothalamus were analyzed, and the conserved and specific cis-acting elements were mined, the key molecular mechanisms of hypothalamic development were identified, and potential gene regulatory network laws were explored.
