Analytic solutions reveal dispersive properties of Rayleigh waves in layered elastic media, suggesting implications for wave behavior.
In this paper an attempt has been made to analyze the propagation of Rayleigh waves in an anisotropic layer overlying an isotropic half space from the perspective of the theory of nonlocal elasticity. The analytic solutions for anisotropic layer and half space are obtained separately. The dispersion relation is obtained using certain necessary boundary conditions. It is observed that the waves are dispersive in nature for different wave number and phase velocity. The effect of nonlocal parameter on anisotropic material is discussed on the wave propagation response.
