Abstract

Digital libraries have become increasingly important for learning resources in urban settings, particularly for youth in Lagos, Nigeria. However, access barriers such as technological proficiency and socio-economic factors persist. A comprehensive review of existing literature will be conducted to identify common themes and specific challenges faced by this demographic. This theoretical framework provides insights into the multifaceted barriers to digital library access for young people in Lagos, which can inform policy and educational strategies aimed at improving their learning experiences. Public libraries should be equipped with more affordable technology and training programmes to enhance digital literacy among urban youth. Additionally, partnerships between tech companies and educational institutions could improve resource availability.
