Bibliometric analysis uncovers global innovation and entrepreneurship education's influence on sustainability, suggesting impactful directions.
Innovation and entrepreneurship education (IEE) is vital for equipping learners to address global challenges aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, a comprehensive analysis of the field's structure and its evolution toward sustainability is lacking. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of 1427 publications from the Web of Science using VOSviewer and CiteSpace to map the global IEE research landscape. Results show accelerated growth since 2016, led by China, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Experiential learning and entrepreneurial intention emerge as core research themes. We propose a framework linking these IEE mechanisms to specific SDGs, such as fostering green technology (SDGs 7, 9, 13), promoting inclusive entrepreneurship (SDGs 5, 10), and circular economy models (SDG 12). This study clarifies the alignment between IEE and sustainability, offering scholars a refined research agenda and providing educators with actionable guidance for designing programs that contribute to a sustainable future.
