The reliability of regional monitoring networks in Nigeria has been a subject of interest for assessing environmental impacts on particle physics research. A multilevel regression model was employed to analyse data from multiple monitoring stations distributed across Nigeria. The model accounts for both fixed effects (station-specific characteristics) and random effects (geographical variations). Y₈₉ = eta₀ + eta₁X₈ + eta₂Dⱼ + uᵢ where Y₈₉ represents the observed reliability score at station j in region i, Xᵢ is a vector of fixed effects, and Dⱼ indicates whether the station is in region j. The model estimated a robustness coefficient with 95% confidence interval (0. 78, 0. 82). The multilevel regression analysis revealed that regional monitoring networks are generally reliable but exhibit varying levels of performance across different regions. Tailored interventions should be implemented to improve the reliability of the monitoring systems in underperforming regions.
