Case report illustrates treatment of renal artery stenosis, suggesting effective intervention for similar cases.
To illustrate a case of renal artery in-stent restenosis successfully treated with shockwave lithotripsy. This is a case report of a patient with solitary kidney and renal artery in-stent stenosis treated with percutaneous lithotripsy followed by drug-coated balloon angioplasty. The subsequent hospital course was uncomplicated. The patient remained normotensive with no deterioration in renal function. Duplex ultrasonography over the next 2 years demonstrated no evidence of significantly elevated velocities. Intravascular lithotripsy followed by drug-coated balloon angioplasty can be an effective treatment modality for in-stent restenosis.
