Mixed-methods approach shows significant internet access challenges for healthcare providers in Côte d'Ivoire, implying a need for enhanced funding and regulatory compliance.
Internet accessibility for healthcare providers in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire has been constrained by both technological and regulatory barriers. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys (N=150) with qualitative interviews (n=20). The survey employs logistic regression models to analyse the impact of regulatory policies on internet access, while thematic analysis is used for qualitative data. The logistic regression model reveals that a significant proportion, 78%, of healthcare providers face challenges in accessing stable and reliable internet services. Qualitative insights highlight recurring themes related to inadequate infrastructure deployment and inconsistent policy enforcement. This study underscores the need for targeted interventions to enhance regulatory compliance and technological support for healthcare providers in Abidjan. Policy makers should prioritise funding for infrastructure development, while stakeholders must collaborate on improving regulatory frameworks and service delivery mechanisms.
