Injectable radiopaque targets for cone-beam CT guided histotripsy
Key Points
This research examines the safety and effectiveness of injectable radiopaque targets for guiding histotripsy procedures using cone-beam CT.
Developed percutaneously injectable barium-based targets
Evaluated safety and targetability using cone-beam CT
Assessed impact on histotripsy treatment zone size in vivo.
Targets were acutely safe and targetable
No alteration in histotripsy treatment zone size was observed in vivo.
Abstract
Percutaneously injectable, radiopaque barium-based targets were acutely safe, targetable and treatable on CBCT and did not alter histotripsy treatment zone size in vivo.
