Empirical research explores the link between religious identity and tolerance in Catholic secondary students, suggesting positive relationships.
Religious tolerance is a multidimensional construct which is influenced by the multidimensional construct of religious identity and outgroup contact as well. Religious identity is not harmful for the outgroup contact and religious tolerance. This is the result of the empirical research among the Catholic secondary school students in Yogyakarta city. Further, the dimensions of religious identity are explanans of the dimensions of outgroup contact and religious tolerance. It is a confirmation of the conjunctive relationship between religious identity and religious tolerance.
