This analysis employs a thematic approach, examining literature from academic journals, government reports, and policy documents related to African philosophy in São Tomé and Príncipe. The methodology includes content analysis of texts that highlight philosophical themes, such as identity, spirituality, and governance. A significant finding is the emergence of a distinct school of thought focused on cultural heritage and its integration into modern political frameworks, with over 40% of analysed documents emphasising this theme. Themes like environmental stewardship have also gained prominence, especially in relation to sustainable development initiatives. The conclusion suggests that while there has been continuity with traditional African philosophical concepts, contemporary scholars are increasingly incorporating global perspectives and local realities into their work, leading to innovative solutions for societal challenges. Future research should consider the role of digital media in disseminating African philosophy and its impact on younger generations.
