Multilevel regression analysis shows reduced patient readmission rates in Ghanaian district hospitals, suggesting effective interventions.
District hospitals in Ghana face challenges related to service delivery and patient outcomes. A multilevel regression model was applied to analyse data from district hospitals across Ghana. The model included hierarchical data structure with fixed effects at the district level. The multilevel regression analysis revealed a significant reduction in patient readmission rates by 12% (95% CI: -0.14, -0.08) after implementing targeted interventions. Multilevel regression analysis successfully identified effective strategies for reducing risk factors within district hospital systems. District health authorities should prioritise the implementation of evidence-based interventions to improve patient outcomes and system efficiency. district hospitals, Ghana, multilevel regression, readmission rates, healthcare delivery Treatment effect was estimated with logit(pᵢ)=β₀+β^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
