This examination discusses millimeter-wave RF technologies enhancing satellite communication for critical sectors, suggesting improved network capacity.
From the perspective of ensuring regional secure and resilient communication network for government, local authorities, public institutions, critical infrastructure, and the private sectors, future LEO constellation satellite communication system has been discussed and investigated. Since there are existing LEO services which use Ka/Ka-bands, new LEO service should develop new higher frequency band such as Q/V-band. In order to accommodate larger number of user terminals than today and mobile terminals on airplanes with relatively high moving speed, DBF array antenna will be appropriated. In this paper, millimeter-wave digital RF transceiver technologies are introduced which have been developed for on-board DBF array antenna for future LEO satellites.
