A review explores using water-ethanol-diesel fuel to enhance engine efficiency and reduce emissions.
Searching for a suitable alternative fuel for vehicles to preserve the earth's environment and conventional fuel stocks with improved vehicle performance and the country's economy is the most challenging task for researchers worldwide. Researchers are eager to use water‐ethanol‐diesel fuel as a potential alternative fuel since they have seen promising results utilizing it in diesel engines. However, further research is needed to determine the ideal ratios of ethanol and water in this fuel. It must be demonstrated that using water‐ethanol‐diesel fuel as an emulsion is more efficient than fumigation in removing engine modifications and improving combustion because of the uniform mixing of fuel and air, which boosts engine efficiency and lowers emissions from vehicle tailpipes. Water–ethanol–diesel fuel also has certain drawbacks, such as increased fuel consumption, hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide emissions.
