Investigation reveals how non-linear thermal radiation affects fluid flow in a porous medium, highlighting significant thermal and velocity effects.
In the current investigation, the influence of non-linear thermal radiation on upper convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid flow along a stretchable surface having a porous space with Cattaneo-Christov heat theory, and suction/injection is carried out. Impacts of heat source/sink, magnetic field, stagnation-point phenomena, velocity slip and temperature jump boundary conditions are also considered. Appropriate transformations are imposed which transform the governing system of partial differential equations (PDEs) into non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The Runge Kutta Fehlberg fourth–fifth (RKF45) method, combined with the shooting technique, is employed to obtain the solution of the transformed non-linear system of equations. The behavior of temperature and velocity fields is analyzed corresponding to the effective parameters. The velocity profile increases with the enhancement of the velocity ratio parameter, whereas it diminishes for varying Deborah number and suction/injection parameter. The temperature field increases with growing values of the radiation parameter and temperature ratio parameter, whereas it declines for large values of the temperature slip parameter and thermal relaxation parameter. Furthermore, Nusselt number values are compared with previous numerical results in the literature, which are found to agree with each other, thus showing the accuracy of the presented results.
