Demonstrates changes in optical properties in manganese oxide via lead doping, indicating potential for enhanced applications.
Nowadays, manganese oxide, an inorganic metal compound, is utilized as a vital component for plant growth as well as a fertilizer, food ingredient, and biosensor. Manganese oxide functions as a dry battery cell and can be transformed into a lithium ion battery by doping lead. The solvo thermal approach was used to create the pure and lead-doped manganese oxide nanoparticles. The sample can be calcined at 3000° C for an hour. SEM, XRD, FTIR, and UV-visible spectroscopy have all been used to examine the properties of pure and lead-doped manganese oxide nanoparticles. The grain size increases to 37.6 nm when Pb is doped with MnO2 (5%). The functional groups have been determined using FTIR. The band gap energy is found via UV-visible spectroscopy. Compared to MnO2 (5.27 eV), Pb-doped MnO2 has a larger band gap of 5.94 eV. In the UV region, manganese oxide has a significant absorption peak (λ nm) at 235.35 nm, while lead-doped manganese oxide nanoparticles show a strong absorption peak (λ nm) at 208.25 nm.
