This report reveals unique clinical features of Rowell syndrome in adult females, suggesting its management aligns with lupus treatments.
A BSTRACT Rowell syndrome (RS) is an uncommon disorder, marked by a distinctive immunological profile and a combination of lupus erythematosus and erythema multiforme-like lesions. To our knowledge, fewer than 100 cases have been observed since the initial diagnosis in 1963, predominantly concerning adult female patients. The prognosis and management are comparable to those of systemic lupus erythematosus or discoid lupus erythematosus when they occur independently. Prednisone along with azathioprine, antimalarials, dapsone, or cyclosporine were commonly used in managing most reported cases of RS.
