Key Points

  • To evaluate patients with pulmonary hemorrhage and identify key risk factors affecting outcomes.
  • Assessment of neonatal cases in a tertiary care unit
  • Classification of early and late pulmonary hemorrhage
  • Analysis of management strategies and long-term outcomes
  • High mortality rates were noted in both early and late pulmonary hemorrhage groups
  • Delivery room resuscitation identified as a key risk factor
  • Management strategies showed similar long-term outcomes for both entities

Abstract

PHem remains a significant cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality. Early and late PHem represent distinct clinical entities with different risk profiles, their management and long-term outcomes are similar. Despite these differences, mortality remains high in both groups. Identification of key risk factors, especially delivery room resuscitation, may guide preventive strategies and optimize neonatal care.
