Systematic review analyzes Alzheimer's disease prevalence and burden in Latin America, uncovering significant gaps in population-based studies.
Systematic review of 89 population-based epidemiological studies on Alzheimer's disease in Latin America (2000-2024). Pooled AD prevalence in population 60+: 4.6-6.2% (I²=87%). Meta-analysis performed for 6 countries. 34% of studies rated high quality (STROBE). No population-based studies from Ecuador, Venezuela, or Central America. Proposes a regional standardization framework. Linked dataset: https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/UVHABW (CC0 1.0)
