This reply highlights the need for specific categories in sports deficit disorder, suggesting further research into therapeutic approaches.
In Reply.— What can one say in reply to a letter of such obvious erudition? We dislike Dr Stirling's suggested name change, but we can see the obvious clinical utility in further subdividing Sports Deficit Disorder into more specific categories. This subdivision did not occur to us, probably because we both suffer from Global Sporting Disability. Certainly Dr Stirling's therapeutic suggestions are worthy of further research. We also appreciate the references to publications 2 and 3, with which we were unfamiliar.
