• Dimensional and geometric deviations depend mainly on feature type and size • Laser beam inclination affects to surface roughness of the part • Shrinkage depends on part size and axis; laser tilt only affects small dimensions • Resulting guidelines ensure optimized, high-quality multi-part printing The effect of laser incidence angle on the quality of parts printed using Vat Photopolymerization by Ultraviolet Light for Ceramics (VPP-UVL/C) has not been explored to date. Therefore, this study systematically investigates the influence of parts positioning within the VPP-UVL/C platform. With the aim of improving production efficiency, the dimensional, geometric and surface quality of alumina parts in different positions (centre and corners) of two platforms with extreme sizes (100 and 300 mm) was evaluated. The results show that dimensional and geometric deviations vary mainly as a function of the size and feature type (internal versus external), regardless of position. However, surface quality shows a clear dependence on the printing location. The study provides practical guidelines for part placement that enable the simultaneous production of multiple high-quality components in a single manufacturing cycle, thus improving the process robustness, quality assurance and economic viability of VPP-UVL/C/Al2O3 in industrial applications.
