Literature review explores value creation in warehouses through innovation and sustainability, suggesting significant improvements for management.
This study examines the role of Warehouse 5.0 in value creation through the integration of technical innovation, environmental sustainability, and human-centric methods. The research employs a systematic literature review to identify the primary methods by which each dimension creates internal value, such as efficiency, safety, and resource optimisation, as well as external value, including innovation diffusion, emission reduction, and social inclusion. The analysis indicates that these characteristics are both individually significant and interrelated, exhibiting synergistic effects that amplify their potential. A conceptual framework is presented to demonstrate how the integration of digital tools, sustainable practices, and inclusive design transforms warehouses into multi-dimensional infrastructures that provide systemic value. This study enhances the theoretical understanding of Warehouse 5.0 and provides managers with strategic insights for implementing balanced, cross-functional warehouse improvements.
