This collection of stories examines grief through diverse horror subgenres, revealing insights into relationships and loss.
This collection of stories follows the circumstances of Walter Bird and Daniel White, a couple in their sixties who have been together for around forty years, as they come in contact with different subgenres of horror and forms of loss. These stories have been created with the intent of exploring various ways people grieve, and how dealing with the loss of a person or the loss of certain elements of a relationship have an impact on the individual. Additionally, they were written with the purpose of analyzing the vast expanse of horror and how different mediums of the genre can be intertwined with literary fiction to allow readers to evaluate how the things that scare us ultimately can serve as a reflection into how we grapple with one of the things we ignore for our own protections – how death is not a possibility, but an imminent end.
