To investigate how different aspects of smart logistics influence new quality productive forces across various regions in China.
Analyzed panel data from 30 Chinese provinces between 2010 and 2023
Utilized Fuzzy Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA)
Examined overall configurations, temporal changes, and regional differences
New quality productive forces arise from the interaction of multiple smart logistics factors.
System coordination is a greater barrier to development than hardware limitations.
Eastern regions leverage digital tools for innovation, while central regions prioritize system changes and efficiency, and western regions focus on foundational capabilities.

Xie et al. (2026) studied this question.
