Demonstrates a method for generating optimal disassembly processes using geometrical constraints in mechanical systems, indicating improvement in process efficiency.
Disassembling is an important process for maintenance and disposal of mechanical as well as structural systems; however, more often than not, the disassembling process is not prepared in advance. We need to organize a disassembling process based on the available information of parts arrangement in such cases. In our study, we deal with a disassembly process inference based on the positional relations matrix that describes the geometrical constraints among the constituent parts of the system to be disassembled. On the basis of the matrix, the disassembly process generation can be dealt with in a general manner. In the current study, as a kind of local optimization, we conduct a redundancy-reduction of the generated disassembly process. The proposed optimal disassembly process generation is examined against benchmark problems.
