Purpose This research covers recent developments in computing which impact large areas of science and technology. The purpose of this study is to bring researchers and industry professionals working on all aspects of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and cyber security under one roof to share innovations and address challenges. Design/methodology/approach The first contribution of this study is in using a cross-disciplinary computing approach where different computing models such as cloud, fog and edge computing, are combined to solve complex and demanding engineering problems. By means of both theoretical analysis and experimental validation, the methodology assesses those scalability and security levels of such interconnected systems. Findings The findings illustrate how deploying Agentic AI with advanced networking protocols brings operational excellence and data integrity to the forefront. Results show that the efficient handling of current computing trends make it an attractive solution for solving latest Big Data and Internet of Things environment problems. Originality/value This work contributes originality in linking the traditional engineering practices with the new age quantum and green computing. The importance of this lies in providing a consolidated view that provides utility for academicians and practitioners who are seeking to implement high cost and deploy secure computing systems.
