This analysis calculates electrical conductivity in hydrogen plasma, indicating key scattering mechanisms.
Specific low-field conductivity of high-temperature (106–109 K) equilibrium hydrogen plasma is calculated for a wide range of its charge-carrier concentrations (1015–1035 m–3) within the framework of the approximation of the ensemble-average relaxation time of electron momentum. The dominant mechanisms of electron scattering in plasma, including pair Coulomb electron–ion and electron–electron collisions, as well as absorption/emission of plasmons, are taken into consideration. It is shown theoretically that the dependence of electron conductivity of plasma on concentration of its charge carriers has two characteristic regions: the region of nearly constant electrical conductivity and the region of nearly constant electron mobility.
