This document presents a practical procedural framework for consciously managing the narrative self («I»-narrative) and switching between cognitive operating modes (narrative mode and flow mode) to achieve meta-flexibility. The core principle is to treat the narrative self not as a fixed identity, but as a functional tool that can be intentionally activated or minimized depending on the task at hand. The procedure aims to reduce unnecessary self-referential noise, improve learning speed, creativity, task performance, and overall cognitive flexibility while preserving social and functional integration. The framework is based on predictive processing and active inference principles and was developed through long-term personal self-experimentation. Risks and Limitations This is an experimental self-management tool. It does not replace professional medical or psychotherapeutic support. Possible risks include temporary dissociation, social maladjustment when flow mode is used excessively, or the procedure itself becoming a new rigid identity. If strong anxiety, derealization, or significant loss of daily functioning occurs, the practice should be stopped immediately and professional help sought. Use at your own risk and responsibility. Acknowledgements The author expresses gratitude to the following AI systems for their substantial assistance in the development, structuring, and refinement of this procedural concept: Grok (xAI), DeepSeek, ChatGPT (OpenAI), and Gemini (Google). Their capacity for dense, iterative feedback and structural suggestions significantly contributed to the clarity and practicality of the final document.
