Introductory experiment demonstrates enhanced arsenic detection using gold and silver electrodes, implying improved analytical sensitivity.
The manuscript describes an introductory electro-analytical experiment utilizing Square Wave Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (SWASV). In this experiment, SWASV is employed to detect metal contaminant arsenic (III) at part-per-billion concentration using the gold and silver working electrodes. The use of square wave potential waveform in the stripping step, instead of linear sweep, allows for the sensitivity enhancement in arsenic detection. For this particular project, the gold electrode was found to give better results based on the parameters utilized with the SWASV analysis.
