This research shows enhanced foam stability in CO2 fracturing fluids, suggesting improved performance for unconventional reservoirs.
A composite stabilizer comprising amidated graphene oxide (AGO) and a CP(AM‐AA‐NaAA) terpolymer was developed to enhance the performance of CO 2 gel foam fracturing fluids under harsh reservoir conditions. AGO was synthesized through the amidation of graphene oxide with polyether amine, which expanded its interlayer spacing and improved its dispersibility. The optimized AGO‐enhanced foam system demonstrated outstanding stability and performance: a high foaming volume of 735 mL, an extended half‐life of 1292 s, and superior foam quality of 88.79% at 120°C. The system also exhibited excellent sand‐suspending ability, low surface tension, broad pH tolerance (3–12), and improved shear resistance. This work presents a promising stabilizer strategy for efficient CO 2 fracturing in high‐temperature and high‐salinity unconventional reservoirs.
