This analytical approach demonstrates linear relationships in calibration curves, suggesting enhanced accuracy in measurement techniques.
Calibration curve in analytical chemistry is used to demonstrate the linear relationship between different standard analyte concentrations and instrument response by using linear regression. One of the important assumptions in linear regression is homoscedasticity, variance of the residuals is constant for the calibration data. Weighted regression is used when this assumption is not met. The goal of this paper is to create a spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel to perform weighted least square linear regression by evaluating different weighting factors.
