Wave functions calculated in alpha-cluster and shell models reveal charge distributions in nuclei, indicating consistency with experiments.
Wave functions of the ground state of the C and Li nuclei in the α-cluster model are calculated using Feynman’s path integrals and hyperspherical functions. The energy of separation to α-particles and the charge distributions were calculated and agreement with experimental data was obtained. In addition, the shell model of the deformed nuclei is used to calculate the nucleon states in the C nucleus for comparison against α-cluster model.
