The article is dedicated to the anniversary celebrations – the famous researcher A.A. Miller and his worthy follower I.I. Akhanov, who made a significant contribution to the formation and development of Russian archaeology. Numerous finds obtained during archaeological expeditions made it possible to present a detailed description of the ancient and medieval structures of the Black Sea region. Identification, systematization and comprehensive study of ethnographic, archaeological and other sources is the fundamental principle of the researchers’ work. Thanks to their efforts, finds of coins, pottery, glass, iron products and their fragments from this region have replenished the collections of Russian scientific and educational organizations: the Russian Museum, the Hermitage Museum, and museums of several cities in Krasnodar Territory. These talented researchers dedicated their lives to studying the history of the Black Sea region and museum work, which resulted in well-deserved recognition from their colleagues.
