Abstract Our academic medical center has offered a cooperative education position in infection prevention and control (IPC) to undergraduate students since 2005. We describe the position and surveyed prior participants (n = 16)—all reported a valuable experience, and 6 of 16 (38%) reported subsequent employment in full-time IPC positions during their careers.
