The nasal septum plays a vital role in both the form and function of the nose as a key component of the nasal framework. Its shape, size, position, and structural integrity determine not only nasal patency but also nasal appearance. Achieving satisfactory functional and aesthetic results can be challenging, especially in cases involving significant septal deformities. A new technique using the DePuySynthes Rapidsorb fixation system is described. The results of a retrospective series of septoplasty surgeries using this technique are presented. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the biodegradable Rapidsorb plate in achieving stable septal correction in cases of severe deviation where conventional techniques were insufficient.
