Genome sequencing reveals vital genetic information in two Neotropical weasel species, indicating their ecological significance.
Genomic resources remain scarce for many ecologically important tropical species. Here, we present genome sequences for two Neotropical weasel species of the genus Neogale : N. frenata , a species widely distributed in Colombia, and the enigmatic N. felipei , which is endemic to Colombia and Ecuador and remains poorly known.
